However, there are likely places that would. Here comes the potentially naieve white guy comment.to me, the mainstream crowds in the mainstream venues will not give you a problem. It is a largely white crowd though I've also seen a number of African American riders too. I have seen small groups of women there who generally appear to be local teens out on the town, so to speak. My purpose is not to pursuade you not to go, just letting you know what you're in for. I've been a dozen or so times, and my observation has been that females are either their with a partner or are working at the rally. As you probably know, the Sturgis demographic in general is heavily white male. I am not sure this will answer you question, but I will offer that I think you're bad-ass regardless! Okay, to your question. All are welcome, but please ride within your ability. Me, I love it and have been going for the last 14, consecutive, years. Scantily clad women are everywhere and the language on the street can be colorful to say the least. Of note this is not a family friendly event. The riding in the Hills is beautiful and challenging. The rally is an opportunity for everyone who shares the passion for riding to get together for 10 days. Also, there were more crashes than I have ever seen on Main Street. This year there were more first timers than I have ever seen. Every year people over estimate their riding ability. If you have never ridden a road with switchback turns you might want to wait until you have 10’s of thousands of miles under your belt before going. Buying your first motorcycle does not instantly give you the ability to ride at the rally. These are the same people that also cross the centerline on switchback curves. These people are obvious as they speed like made a straight away then slow down on any sort of curve. Every year there are numerous riders way out of the league trying to ride the Black Hills. Visiting Sturgis is not synonymous with attending the rally.

Every year thousands of people come to Sturgis before or after the actual rally, buy rally t-shirts, and go back home telling all their friends ad family they went to the rally.
